Small and DIY interconnection requirements

Self-installation is explicitly allowed by the property owner in NV Energy's own handbook, they verify you are the owner. Application via the PowerClerk portal with one-line diagram, site plan, and equipment specs, plus a non-refundable fee. documented

No parallel operation before permission to operate. Completeness review within 10 business days, total time to PTO reported anywhere from 6-10 weeks to several months depending on project complexity. documented

AB 405 rates: new systems land in Tier 4, monthly netting with excess credited at 75% of retail, locked for 20 years at the install address. By law you can't size past 100% of your annual usage (highest 12 months of the past 24). documented

Fresh change: northern Nevada applications approved after Oct 1, 2025 get 15-minute netting instead of monthly, which cuts the value of midday exports. Existing customers keep their old structure. documented

Every claim above is evidence-graded: documented means it traces to the tariff or the utility's own filings, reported means a dated community report. The full table covers 53 utilities: see all of Gridrules.
