Small and DIY interconnection requirements

Their own wording: wait for interconnection approval before purchasing equipment or installing. PowerClerk application with a single-line diagram plus proof of homeowner's insurance with at least $100k personal liability. documented

Sequence: approval, install, local inspection, then a separate Dominion utility inspection, meter swap (bidirectional plus a generation meter), then approval to energize. 24/7 access to your disconnect and meter is required. documented

Solar Choice moves you to a time-of-use rate with exports credited by TOU period and a minimum bill. There's also an offset-only option with zero export credit, and a buy-all/sell-all rate. documented

Home-sale trap: solar service does not transfer with the electric account. The new owner must apply via PowerClerk before the generation meter is reconnected, and renters can't reconnect it at all. documented

Every claim above is evidence-graded: documented means it traces to the tariff or the utility's own filings, reported means a dated community report. The full table covers 53 utilities: see all of Gridrules.
